Reflection of Physics 202
So far in Physics 202, I have learn so much, ranging from how to read and take notes from the textbook to being able to bring my knowledge and understanding to the table to help my group in the best way I can. When working in my group, in the beginning I was what you would say a turtle in its shell. I was not really comfortable to open my mouth cause I truly believed I did not know anything cause I could not read the textbook. After pushing myself and finding my way, I would say they cannot get me to be quiet now. When there is something the group does not understand and I have somewhat of a thought, I try to put it in an example that we can all relate to. This way we can all have something to connect the subject to when we come along the same thing in the future. In doing this, I have received some good feedback on how I am helping and will try anything to get the group/member to understand something that is not so clear to the regular eye.
I honestly love working with the members in my group and we always seem to understand each other when it comes down to answering the problems/quizzes together. We never leave anyone behind and we make sure if there is a question to be asked we make sure we can answer it for the group member so she is on the same page as we are. However, I am not always understanding what is going on. In this situation I have learned to ask my team if they could explain something or help me get to the same conclusion. I have never been met with a no, for this I am truly grateful.
In this team, I have learned to be confident in my answer, as to not shy away and let someone else dominate the group. I have also learned to question the norms and find different way to truly understand the material so in the end I can return the favor leading a helping hand.
Although I have not received much bad feedback, I would like to better myself even more. Where I fall short is the representations. Tasida is amazing at representations. I plan to better myself in these ways that way I can help my group understand the problem better. Another point for improvement is see what we have and knowing where to start to get the answer needed. With this I know the more practice I have the better I will become. So in this I would like to make more time in my schedule to be able to attempt the mastering physics practices.
Finally, as I have said before that I am utter grateful for my team for having my back in the learning curve and new environment. I have gain skills that I would not have had before and I have come to an understanding of the material. I would be able to take these skills of thinking of another approach, drawing out the problem and the skill of being able to take my thoughts and conjure them in a way that everyone can understand will follow me into medical school and in the hospital after that.
